Youngster Mohammed bags Yorkshire title

KBW BOXER Jawaad Mohammed became a Yorkshire champion after defeating Aaron Flynn in a close-fought contest.

Seventeen-year-old Mohammed (pictured below with coach Alan Haque) won the 56kg title after beating Sheffield Boxing Centre’s experienced Flynn on a split decision, having boxed defensively throughout.

On his way to the final Mohammed won a unanimous decision against Rawethorpe’s Jordan Yates in the last four.

Mohammed has only boxed six times and has already clinched his first title.

The youngster is KBW’S fifth boxer to become a Yorkshire champion this season and, with further development, could follow in the footsteps of Saif Cheema who has turned professional whilst training at the gym in Dewsbury.
