Williams fires for Lees

ELLIOTT WILLIAMS grabbed a mouthwatering hattrick as THORNHILL LEES extended their advantage at the Heavy Woollen Sunday League Premier Division summit following a 72 crushing of AFC CHICKENLEY. 

Scott Hargreaves (2), Aiden Schofield and Steve Brook were also on target as Shaun McDaid and Tim Clarke netted for the visitors. 

TOWNGATE climbed to third after Lee Maturine (2), John Flynn, Steve Richards, Josh Cooke and Danny Facey all scored in a 63 triumph over LITTLETOWN, who replied through a Lee McKeown double and an Andy Asquith goal. 

Meanwhile, WOODMAN BATLEY CARR picked up their first win of the campaign with a 43 win over Birkenshaw as FC PACK HORSE collected their first points of the season with a thrilling 54 victory at BATTYEFORD. 

OAKWELL MOTEL moved to the Championship summit on goal difference despite going down to a 41 loss away to OVERTHORPE SPORTS CLUB.

Danny Wilson opened the scoring for Oakwell, but Overthorpe hit back through Andy Bates (2), Gareth Marshall and an Andy Godding penalty, which proved decisive. 

Meanwhile, OVERTHORPE are in second spot after DEWSBURY RANGERS’ game with CARRIERS ARMS was postponed.

Tom Wilks and Michael Rounding scored the goals for MIRFIELD TOWN, who overcame the challenge of TAYLOR FC, 21. 

Elsewhere, GOMERSAL went goal crazy, demolishing Scholes Athletic 151 and Sean Addy scored a hattrick in HARTSHEAD's 43 victory over BIRSTALL ST PATRICKS.  

Division One club NORTHORPE UNITED maintained their 100 per cent record with a 51 win at BARR STREET.

Kyle Douglas (2), Chris Meesam, Patrick Davies and Jermaine Davis were on target for Northorpe, with Daniel Stuart claiming Barr Street’s solitary effort. 

RAILWAY EAST ARDSLEY are six points adrift in second spot after Harry Moxon (2), Chris Nock, Dean Thistleton, Luke Murfin and Paul Appleyard all hit the back of the net in a 61 success over BATTYEFORD RESERVES, who replied with a goal from Johnny Mitchell.

A Dominic Simpson double, plus strikes from Thomas Overend and John McNamara, saw ST JOHN FISHER RESERVES edge up to third following their 42 win over BAY HORSE EAST ARDSLEY.  

Meanwhile, RAVENSWHARFE edged ST IGNATIUS 32, BATLEY IRISH NASH overcame HIGHTOWN 63 and BIRKENSHAW RESERVES reigned supreme in their clash with RISING SUN, running out 53 victors. 

HECKMONDWIKE SPORTS CLUB sit top of Division Two on goal difference much thanks to Richard Hartley’s late strike, which saw them limp to a 10 win over Heavy Woollen Sunday League newcomers JARDY BOYS.

MOUNT PLEASANT lie just behind in second following a 71 success at home to MIRFIELD TOWN RESERVES while thirdplaced WHITE HORSE enjoyed a 61 triumph over SNOWDON, Paul Gledhill leading the way with a stunning hattrick. 

Elsewhere, SHEARS ATHLETIC had Dave Blakeley, Jonathan Holt, Daniel Stephenson, Daniel Jones and Nick Watmuff to thank for their 52 win over PUNCH BOWL, OVERTHORPE SPORTS CLUB RESERVES finished up 90 winners against bottom side ROSE OF YORK and BLACK HORSE came out on top against BATLEY CELTICS, clinching a 63 victory.
