CHAMPIONS: The Vipers proved too strong for their play-off final opponents
ON SUMMER league duty, Spen Valley Vipers brushed aside Tadcaster Tornadoes to add a third piece of silverware to their trophy cabinet.
The Vipers tackled impressive opposition in the Leeds Tigers’ four-week competition and made it all the way to the play-off final, despite a couple of defeats en-route.
In a bid to provide the squad with extra game time ahead of the new season, Vipers bosses tried and tested a host of personnel.
And the changes had the desired effect as Spen Valley came out on top, winning 51-37.
Having already overcome Tadcaster Tornadoes two weeks prior, the Vipers had reason to be confident ahead of their play-off clash against the North Yorkshire outfit.
They led by three points at the break, but, led by Reece Hill and Luke Kennedy, stormed ahead during the third and fourth quarters to seal their success.
