Savile Youth set Premier pace

SAVILE YOUTH continue to set the pace at the top of the Spen Valley League Premier Division after a convincing 5-0 win at Smokin Aces.

Imran Patel led the way with a hat-trick, with Sadeel Ahmed adding two goals to complete the scoring.

Savile United made in two losses from two games in the top tier as they were edged 3-2 at newly-promoted Marsh.

Shuaib Patel and Faisal Adam scored for United, but goals from Sam Buswell, Chris Blackburn and Mark Wigley ensured a win for the home side.

In Division One Hightown Jets produced a stunning performance as they defeated Cleckheaton Sporting 9-1.

Nathan Clarke led the way with a five-goal haul, with Kyle Kershaw (two), James Mortimor, Daniel Deakin ensuring they stay top of the division. Matty Softley scored Cleckheaton’s consolation.

Mount Pleasant remain hot on their heals after a 3-1 victory over local rivals Norfolk. Anees Younis (two) and Mohammed Patel scored for Mount, with Z Khan scoring Norfolk’s reply.

Howden Clough picked up their first win of the season as they saw off George Healey FC in a 5-2 victory.

Simon Moore netted a hat-trick, with teammates Jason Stainburn and McCauley Clarke also adding goals. Phil Clark and Ryan Jones replied for Healey.

Savile Town also picked up three points as they edged newly-entered side Fox and Hounds Batley 4-2.

Sufyann Sajid’s double proved the difference between the sides after Umar Adam and Amir Khan had scored for Town. Fox and Hounds added scores from Andrew Hudson and Sam Hetherington.

Fellow Division One side Inter Batley continued their slow start to the campaign as they fell to a 5-0 loss at Idle.
