DEWSBURY RAMS boss Warren Jowitt has revealed the club are in talks with Leeds Rhinos to secure the services of prop Brad Singleton.
The highlyrated 19yearold, right, has made one Super League appearance since joining Rhinos and head coach Brian McDermott wants him, like Liam Hood, to develop his trade in the Championship.
Jowitt said: “We’re hoping to pull of the signing of Brad Singleton.
“He’s another hot prospect and he’ll add further size, strength and power to our front row and he obviously acts as a direct replacement for Ben Bolger.
“The good thing about him is that he would allow Steve Crossley and Ben Jones to go all out rather than have to pace themselves.
“Those boys are currently playing too many minutes in my opinion and I want them to be able to play in the correct stints rather than for long periods.”
Owing to this weekend’s Carnegie Challenge Cup action, the Rams are without a fixture on Sunday but will enjoy a welcome week off.
“We’re slowly preparing for what will be a difficult test against Keighley but it’s going to be a bit of a recovery week,” added Jowitt.
“A number of players who were far from 100 per cent put their bodies on the line to earn us a vital victory over Hunslet and I cannot thank them enough for what they did that day.”
