Poor run continues as Sedge remain bottom

It was a story of missed chances for Liversedge as they had the opportunities to win Saturday’s game after taking an early lead but slumped to a 21 defeat at Maltby Main that leaves them rooted to the bottom of the Kool Sport Northern Counties East League Premier Division.
Sedge opened the scoring in the second minute following a freekick.
John Penn delivered the setpiece and Danny Verity headed the ball onto the bar but, as it bounced down, Damian Dunne netted.
The home side weathered the storm and levelled from the spot when Jimmy Penn committed a foul in the area and Chris Dickman scored.
Fifteen minutes from time, Greg Mason drilled in an angled shot to win it for the home side.
This week Stuart Waddington’s side have three games, against Hall Road Rangers tomorrow (Sat) at home, then Bridlington on Tuesday and then Winterton Rangers the following Saturday – both away.
