Ossett Town's October woes continue after away loss

OSSETT TOWN have slipped to 18th in the Evo-Stik First Division North table after losing 5-0 to promotion hopefuls Spennymoor Town.

Spennymoor made their home advantage count and were quick to get a foothold in the match when Glen Taylor broke the deadlock after three minutes to nudge the hosts ahead. Ossett competed for the most part in the first period but when Scott Kerr double the hosts lead in the 39th minute the visitors were facing an uphill task.

A second-half brace from Shane Henry, scoring in the 58th and 75th minute, sealed Ossett’s fate and their poor performance was compounded by Gavin Cogdon’s 86th-minute strike to round off a dominant victory for the home side.
