FIVE Cleckheaton youngsters starred as Yorkshire Under-20s development team hammered Leeds University 50-10 at Ilkley on Saturday.
Bradley Marsden, Luke Pearson, Cameron Burnhill, Niall Jackson and James Crowther all represented the white rose county, with solid displays in both attack and defence.
The Cleckheaton quintet contributed 20 points to the scoring as Yorkshire brushed aside the university side.
Pearson and Burnhill both scored two tries each and Crowther was unlucky not be on the scoresheet after he had a try disallowed.
Bradley Marsden showed good technique and had a hand in two of the tries. Niall Jackson also had a good game and was rewarded by making progress to the Yorkshire Under-20s warm-up game at Doncaster.
The previous weekend Moorender Josh Plunkett helped Yorkshire to a convincing 34-7 win against Cheshire at Bowden Rugby Club near Altrincham.
The Cleckheaton back-rower started the game at No.8 and was denied a try when the Cheshire scrum-half illegally stopped him grounding the ball.
The referee saw the incident and immediately awarded Yorkshire a penalty try.
