NATHAN JEWITT and Robbie Ellis have won the Overthorpe Sports Club’s Over and Under 21 competition.
They won the £200 prize money by beating Nathan’s sister Georgia Jewitt and her partner Mark Dobson 21-18 in a top-quality final.
Excellent play from Ellis helped his pair take a commanding 10-1 lead before Georgia Jewitt and Dobson clawed their way back into the game taking the score to 15-12 before Ellis swapped leads with Nathan to take control at 20-12.
Once again Georgie Jewitt and Dobson fought back to trail 20-18, but a fine last end saw Nathan Jewitt and Ellis close out the game.
Earlier Ellis and Nathan Jewitt defeated Mark Lofthouse and Tom Thorpe 21-13, Brian Macdonald and Matty Thorpe 21-3 before accounting for John and Marc Armitage 21-20 in a superb semi-final.
Georgia Jewitt and Dobson defeated Georgia’s father David and Ben Falkingham 21-12, Jonathan Smith and daughter Mia Greenlees-Smith 21-10, Geraldine Dickinson and Jack Bowes 21-19 and surprise package Alan Sykes and Sam Farmer 21-10 in their semi-final.
Ripley and Wainwright took the prize for the highest break of 15.
