DEWSBURY District Golf Club have more to celebrate in their 125th year after Eileen Hogan and Janet Pearson won the County Foursomes at Knaresborough GC.

Hogan and Pearson play off 29 and 17 handicaps respectively and have brought the the Clifford County Foursomes trophy back to Dewsbury for the first time in its 48-year existence.

A round of 75, par to the course, was enough to secure victory for the duo, who qualified for the County Foursomes off the back of their second-placed finish in the Yorkshire Ladies County Golf Association District final in at Meltham GC back in July.

The Dewsbury pairing had to wait three hours for the win to be confirmed as a field of 82 pairs took to the course in Knaresborough from six Yorkshire-wide area qualifiers.
