Free-scoring Bordman joins Reed's Town

OSSETT TOWN have further boosted their squad with the signing of striker Rob Bordman.

Bordman was being chased by a number of sides thanks to his haul of 29 goals in 30 games for relegated Wakefield last season.

Manager John Reed is delighted to have got the free-scoring striker’s signature and said: “Rob’s record speaks for itself, to score 29 goals in a struggling side in a league as tough as ours is a massive achievement.

“I am more than happy with the side I am putting together for the new season, the heart of the team looks strong and to add Rob up top means I am sure we will surprise a few sides this year.”

Bordman added “I’m really pleased to get sorted for the new season, the club has a bounce about it and appears to be a good family/community club and that is what I was looking for”.

The former Wakefield forward becomes the third player to join Town this week, with goalkeeper Brad Dixon signing from Leeds United and Alex Turfrey making the step up from the reserve side.

Ossett Town fans will have their first opportunity to see all the new summer signings in action next Saturday as the side travel to Glossop North End.
