Free golf taster sessions for ladies are on offer at Howley Hall Golf Club, with the first scheduled for Tuesday of next week.
Situated on Scotchman Lane between Morley and Batley, Howley Hall was the first golf club in Yorkshire to be awarded the new GolfMark and Sport England’s ClubMark award from England Golf.
A key part of receiving the accreditation is a commitment to introducing golf to the local community, and the club will also be opening its facilities to disabled people in the area on August 1.
The first introductory session for ladies will take place between 7pm and 9pm next Tuesday (July 14) and includes wine and nibbles afterwards.
Rebecca West and Ryan Rastall, who are part of the coaching team at Howley Hall, will host the gatherings and cover the basics of the golf swing before moving on to chipping and putting.
Equipment is provided and athletic-style footwear is recommended to be worn.
“It’s light-hearted and fun and free of charge and our goal is to make sure everyone has a really good time. For those who want to take it to the next step we can advise on some of the trial membership options and tuition packages available,” said Rebecca.
For those busy through the week there’s a second opportunity to learn about the game of golf on Sunday July 19 between 1pm and 3pm, when coffee/tea and cake will also be served.
Places are limited and to reserve a spot call Rebecca West on 07778 045969.
