Four-goal Qasim proves a handful for Savile Town

IN THE Spen Valley Football League Memorial Trophy, Girlington thrashed Savile Town 7-1.

Four goals from Mohammed Qasim set the hosts on their way to a comfortable victory with further strikes coming from Saad Abbas, Umar Zahoor and Waqas Khan.

Savile United also hit seven past Howden Clough.

Faisal Adam scored a hat-trick for the away side with Ismail Pandor, Uzair Kola, Rizwan Ismail and Abdul Karim Mahmood adding the rest.

In reply Clough struck thanks to an Ashton Roberts brace.

Another team to bag seven goals were Savile Youth in their comprehensive victory over Norfolk.

Abdullah Aswat was in fine form, netting five goals and Yusuf Akudi’s double rounded off the scoring for the hosts.

Ismail Loonat claimed a consolation goal for Norfolk.

Meanwhile in the remaining games from last weekend Athletico proved too strong for Inter Batley.

The Premier Division side beat the First Division side 5-2 on the road.

Dewsbury West Side survived a tough test to overcome George Healey 5-3.
