OSSETT Town have snapped up winger Nathan Curtis, pictured, just released from Bradford City, and re-signed 11 players who featured in last season’s Evo Stik Division One North campaign.
Staying on for boss John Reed’s first season in charge at Ingfield are goalkeeper Sam Dobbs, Steven Jeff, Nick Wood, Brad Kilburn, Lewis Akeister, Richard Patterson, Chris Ovington, Ryan White, Aaron Jones, Chris Wood and Sam Pashley.
Reed told Town’s website: “I am delighted so many players have been so keen to return, and there are more from last season who I know will be back. I know the size of squad I want and have a number of players in mind that I will take a look at.”
Town will travel to meet Nostell Miners Welfare or Stockport Sports in the preliminary round of the FA Cup on Saturday, August 30.
It will be the first time they have played a competitive game against either side, although the Reds have met Nostell on a number of occasions in friendlies.
If Town win, their first qualifying round opponents will be Evo-Stik Premier League side Marine, who they last played three years ago. In the FA Trophy, Town are away to Evo Stik new boys Brighouse Town on October 18.
The winners will be rewarded with a home tie against Evo-Stik Premier side Trafford on November 1.
Albion away double
Ossett Albion have been drawn away to either Alsager Town or Winterton in the preliminary round of the FA Cup on August 30.
They will be away again at New Mills in the preliminary pound of the FA Trophy on October 18.
