Cycle speedway talent adds to haul

PAWEL IDZIOREK made his late inclusion count, romping to junior and senior titles in the Northern Individual Championship.

The Heckmondwike cycle speedway talent, fresh back from racing in Poland, looked set to miss out on taking part.

Though the absence of a fellow competitor enabled the youngster to compete and Idziorek, pictured right and centre below, certainly made the most of his inclusion.

An impressive 20-point haul saw him clinch the under-19s crown for the second year running, before easing to a complete a double with 18 points in the senior section.

Firth Park teammate Darren Kent, meanwhile, scored 19 potions to claim the veterans’ crown.

Jake Wood scored nine as a senior, Adam Watson scored 11 in the under-19s and under-16s class and Laura Watson managed 13 in the women’s event.

Heckmondwike return to Northern League action on Sunday week as they travel to Edinburgh.
