Cleckheaton lose out in Park battle

Cleckheaton failed to continue their winning run as they went down 246 to titlechasing Percy Park in a highly competitive affair.
Despite the onesided final score, Cleckheaton were first on the board thanks to an Iain Gordon penalty goal.
However the away side hit back with a penalty of their own before scoring backtoback tries, courtesy of Ali Blair and playercoach James Ponton, which Mike Greetham converted.
A further Gordon penalty reduced the arrears but Park were taking control of proceedings leading up to halftime.
The second half contained some excellent rugby from both sides but Cleckheaton were making the greater number of errors.
In the end, the hosts became second best to a very competent Park side, who completed their tally late on with a try from hooker Andrew Dunn, which was converted by Simon Greetham.
