Central Yorkshire opt for change of sponsor

SAVILE TOWN-based businessman Solly Adam has expressed his disappointment at the Central Yorkshire League’s decision to end their sponsorship with his sportswear company, Solly Sports.

The league instead opted for a new deal with Chris Taylor’s Leeds based ‘All Rounder Cricket Equipment’.

Adam told The Press that he felt the league had not given him any warning of the change.

“I have been sponsoring for the last four years and expected to carry on,” he said.

“At no time was I asked, or given the opportunity, to improve on the deal.

“I have nothing against Chris, he is a good man and knows his cricket.

“But the Central Yorkshire League has always been my league. I have played for several clubs in the league and I am based in the area.

“I am disappointed but there are no hard feelings and my door is always open. If the Central Yorkshire League want to come back to me at a later date I am always willing to help them.”

Adam has won several honours in the CYL and also played with distinction fror Spen Victoria in the Bradford League, captaining them to the Second Division title in 1987 and the Priestley Cup three years later.
