MAKING A SPLASH – Batley Bulldogs chairman Kevin Nicholas was in a determined mood at the club’s annual golf day at Howley Hall on Monday. This shot from the water didn’t get him on the honours board though – the winners were Chris Purslow’s Birstall Premier Paving team after a countback split the3-way tie. Paul Hull was nearest the pin and Phil Ellerby had the longest drive.
A record 26 teams took part prompting club Chief Exec Paul Harrison to hail it “a fantastic success”. Teams included friends from the Keighley club (including legend Garry Schofield) and Halifax. The event was sponsored by Northern Premier Racing.
