Archer Rogers clinches Yorkshire junior title

LOCAL archery youngster Lauren Rogers has continued her success by winning the Under-12 Girls Recurve title at the Yorkshire Junior Championships.

This achievement follows her impressive runner-up finish in the same event at the Lancashire Junior Championships where she registered her Archery GB 1000-point Rose Award in the process.

The 12-year-old Castle Hall student competes in both indoor and outdoor competitions and trains at the Nova Bowmen centre in Hunsworth.

Lauren, who lives in Norristhorpe, has been shooting for three years and her steady progression in the sport has earned her the opportunity to compete in the Junior National Championships.

Lauren also recently teamed up with the Yorkshire Junior Squad as a reserve at the Northern Counties Archery Society Regional Tournament as she continues her training with the Yorkshire Archery Association Junior squad.
