A WOMAN died after being hit by a train at Ravensthorpe Railway Station on Monday afternoon.
Police and paramedics attended the scene and rail services between Leeds and Huddersfield were suspended.
A spokesman for British Transport Police said: “A woman sadly died after she was struck by a train at Ravensthorpe station.
“Officers were called to the station, shortly after 4.20pm and attended alongside paramedics.”
Police are still making enquiries to establish how the woman came to be on the tracks. She has still not been publicly identified.
