THERE is really only one story this week – and we have all the reaction following the death of Batley and Spen Labour MP Jo Cox.

We were at the memorial in Batley Market Place to celebrate what would have been her 42nd birthday on Wednesday with a crowd of about 2,000 people from all races, religions and backgrounds.

They travelled from all over, including a business from Middlesbrough with no connection to the area and who had not heard of Mrs Cox until last week but felt compelled to attend.

In one of her first interviews since the tragedy Dewsbury and MP Paula Sherriff called on communities to pull together in the fight against extremism in all its forms.

We have round-ups from all the major events, including vigils, worldwide tributes, court appearances and a by-election controversy.

It's all in The Press, the only newspaper which has North Kirklees covered.
