BATLEY-born entrepreneur Lawrence Tomlinson received his third honorary degree on Wednesday.
The former Batley Grammar School pupil was made a doctor of engineering by Leeds Metropolitan University.
He already has honorary degrees from the University of Huddersfield and the University of Bradford.
Dr Tomlinson, pictured above, runs the LNT Group, a Garforth-based firm employing more than 2,000 staff across five fields.
LNT’s interests include care homes, construction, computer software and Ginetta racing cars.
Mr Lawrence said: “The recognition from Leeds Metropolitan University is fantastic.
“All the parts of Ginetta cars are sourced as locally as possible, with many either produced on site or in Yorkshire.
“I therefore hope we are helping British engineers and manufacturers grow and develop their skills.
“It’s also important to help the next generation of engineers. Ginetta employs apprentices and invites engineering students for work experience.”
