A BATLEY textile firm welcomed a member of the Royal Family to celebrate 250 years in business.
HRH Princess Anne, the Princess Royal, visited the Joshua Ellis & Co site on Grange Valley Road yesterday (Thursday) to tour the site and meet the design and production teams.
Her Royal Highness, who is president of the UK Fashion and Textile Association, unveiled a plaque to commemorate her visit.
The firm, which began as a clothiers before diversifying into woollen textile manufacturing in the late 1700s, weaves luxury cashmere which it exports to 23 countries.
