Rangers clinch soccer award

DEWSBURY Rangers football club have received another official seal of approval.

The club, which has moved into a new clubhouse at its Wakefield Road base, has achieved FA Community Club status.

It follows Rangers being named the West Riding County FA’s Charter Standard Club of the Year in 2011.

They have also formed a partnership with St John Fisher Sports College to allow teams to train over winter on a state-of-the-art, floodlit 3G pitch.

The latest award recognises that Rangers’ officials are running the club efficiently, developing young footballers with qualified coaching staff and developing facilities for community use.

Becoming a Community Club is the pinnacle of the FA club development pathway and Rangers had to meet high levels of criteria, ensuring they provide opportunities for players irrespective of age, gender, religion and ability.
