Public tip off led police to Chickenley drugs raid

LARGE amounts of drugs and cash were seized by police when they raided an address in Chickenley last Saturday.
Suspected cannabis, bags of white power, blue pills and cash were hidden throughout a house in Hazel Avenue.
A 23year old man has been arrested over alleged drugs offences and is now on bail pending further enquiries. The drugs are currently undergoing forensic testing to establish what they are and how much they are worth.
Police were tipped off on June 25 about possible dealing in Chickenley Lane and found a package containing drugs there.
An investigation was launched by Kirklees Police’s Dewsbury and Mirfield NPT to trace those responsible for the package.
It led them to a house on Hazel Avenue, where drugs and cash were found and the 23yearold suspect arrested.
PC Michael Beardsley said: “We are delighted at this significant result in the Chickenley area of Dewsbury.
“We are confident it will dent the dealing activities of local criminals and also protect the community from the effects of illegal drugs.”
