PLANS to mark the 100th anniversary of World War One are to be unveiled at Dewsbury Town Hall on Tuesday (2pm).
Kirklees Council is helping to organise events for the four-year commemoration period, which starts next year.
Residents, community groups and other organisations are being encouraged to get involved.
Anyone interested can find out more about the events, which have a ‘lest we forget’ theme, on Tuesday but places must be booked. Heritage Lottery Fund staff will advise on how to apply for grants for anniversary projects. Council cabinet member for communities Coun Jean Calvert said: “We want a vibrant programme of cultural events across Kirklees which will enable people of all ages to find out more about the war.”
To book a place, call Joanne Catlow on 01484 234024 or e-mail email@example.com.
