HUNDREDS of people and their pets enjoyed a fun-filled day in Dewsbury’s Crow Nest Park last weekend.
Dogs, hedgehogs, guinea pigs and rabbits were all on show at the Pets in the Park event, with animals taking part in fun competitions as well as stalls, rides, craft activities and advice on pet care from the RSPCA and other organisations.
Classes in the dog show included best trick, best partnership, dog with the waggiest tail and dog the judge would most like to take home.
Deputy Mayor of Kirklees Coun Paul Kane handed out prizes and there was also a service and blessing from Rev Kathy Robertson to celebrate people’s relationship with the animals that share their lives.
“It was an absolutely fabulous day in the park and a credit to the organisers,” said Coun Kane.
