DEWSBURY MP Paula Sherriff is doing her bit to help more people in the district find work.
She will be hosting a jobs, careers and apprenticeships fair on Friday, January 26, at Dewsbury Jobcentre on Rishworth Road (2pm-4pm).
There will be local and national organisations in attendance to help showcase a variety of career opportunities, including stalls from Yorkshire Water, Asda, Transpennine Express, Kirklees College, Connect Housing and others. It is open to everyone across the district, with career opportunities available for people with few or no qualifications.
Miss Sherriff said: “I’m looking forward to hosting my first jobs, careers and apprenticeships fair for local people to network and talk with organisations and to hopefully find employment.
“This government’s poor economic investment, coupled with their relentless austerity cuts, continue to damage our area. We can’t fix these problems with a single event but I want this to be an opportunity for those who are struggling to find work to make a connection with employers in the constituency.
“I have really enjoyed working with businesses and organisations small and large to put together this event and I want to thank Dewsbury Jobcentre and everyone involved in helping make this happen.”
