Naked paedophile filmed street kids

A PAEDOPHILE who secretly filmed children playing outside his Liversedge home has been jailed.

Ian Davison, 61, of Union Road, was sentenced to six months in prison last Friday at Leeds Crown Court.

The hearing was told Davison was naked while videoing the youngsters from the bedroom window of his home.

More than 21,500 indecent images and movies of children were found by police in a search of his home in September, 2011.

About 6,000 of these were at levels three, four and five – the most serious categories of child pornography.

Richard Butters, prosecuting, said a memory stick called ‘The Street’ had footage of children playing outside his home.

Davison told police he got a “buzz” from filming the youngsters, who have never been identified.

He pleaded guilty to 21 charges of making indecent photographs of children and two of taking indecent photographs of children.

Tony Kellbrick, mitigating, said Davison, who had studied photography, had led a lonely life. He turned to adult porn to “fill a void or gap left by the absence of normal human contact” and then progressed to indecent images of children.

Judge Geoffrey Marson, QC, said: “No words of mine can express the distress and degradation brought upon those children.

“In many ways it is a sad case, but it is quite impossible to pass over it without imposing an immediate custodial sentence.”

He added of the street videos: “People will now know that someone in their street has been photographing children.

“They will no doubt be concerned as to whether their child was one of those that was photographed.”
