MIRFIELD residents are being urged to nominate their local heroes for the annual MyMirfield Community and Business Awards.
The ceremony is being held for the sixth time with many different retailers, businesses and organisations recognised for what they have achieved for the town.
Winners will be announced at a black-tie evening on Saturday March 28 at the Cedar Court Hotel in Bradford.
Public nominations close on Friday January 24 at 5pm. Anyone can nominate as many people as they like across as many categories as they want.
The finalists will be chosen ahead of the public voting, which is held throughout March.
Co-founder Richard Hartley said: “Last year’s awards night was made by seeing the winners’ faces, and the appreciation of the finalists to have been nominated by so many of the general public.
“It was made by people in Mirfield coming together to celebrate each other and what this town has to offer. If this highlights what we have collectively in Mirfield and brings more people into town then the night has been a success for everyone.”
There are 12 categories in total – new business; established business; community supporting business; charity supporting business; activity organisation; sporting organisation; community group; community project; community event or attraction; volunteer or fundraiser; above and beyond; and special recognition.
