A BOOK about the man behind the world-famous Batley Variety Club is set to be released later this month.
'King of Clubs' is the story of James Corrigan, who brought some of the world's biggest stars to the town.
Author Maureen Prest worked in promotions and public relations at the variety club - which would later become the Frontier Club - between 1967 and 1974.
She was a close friend and confidant of Mr Corrigan and her book tells his life story.
'King of Clubs' will be launched at Batley Town Hall on Friday, March 24, at 11am.
Broadcaster and writer Ian Clayton will host the event, at which Maureen will be present to sign copies of the book. All are welcome.
