Man's court fine for mess in garden

A HECKMONDWIKE man has been fined for not clearing waste from his garden.
Kirklees Council contacted Mohammed Usman, of Briar Close, Heckmondwike and asked him to clear his garden of waste and he was served a notice when he didn’t comply.
Although he then cleared some of the waste, he didn’t remove it all and was then issued with a fixed penalty notice which he did not pay.
He was prosecuted and private contractors were brought in by the council to clear waste from the garden.
Mr Usman was found guilty in his absence at Batley and Dewsbury Magistrates Court last Wednesday.
He was fined £100 plus £15 victim support and £375 costs.
