Liversedge Lotto winners keep their feet on ground

LOTTERY winners Russell and Clare Teale celebrated a £190,000 fortune with a few days away – in a caravan.
Production manager Russell, 40, and 39yearold Clare, of Liversedge, took children Samual and Jessica to North Yorkshire.
The couple scooped £189,998 on July 2 by matching five numbers and the bonus ball from a ‘lucky dip’ ticket.
Russell said: “We go away in the caravan as much as we can as we love the outdoors and it’s great fun with the kids.
“I’m sure most Lotto winners splash out on a new car or a big party. But our first purchase was a new cooker as ours broke the night before we won.”
He added that Samual, eight, and Jessica, four, have written out wishlists but the family’s feet are staying firmly on the ground.
“We plan to stay in the same house, so weí’l pay off the mortgage and might have an extension built,” Russell said.
“And we fancy a newer car, nothing too flash, just something big enough to tow the caravan.”
The couple had no idea they had won until Russell checked his emails and spotted one from lottery organiser Camelot.
He said: “I’d already checked the lotto numbers on Teletext. I play three lines a week and I’d also done a couple of lucky dips.
“I knew when I saw the winning line that my usual numbers hadn’t won anything and thought nothing of it.
“It was only later when I checked my emails that I saw one from Camelot saying that I’d won. One of the lucky dips had come up trumps!”
