Landlady fined over waste and flytipping

A 40YEAROLD woman has been fined for flytipping in Cleckheaton. Tracy Kirk, formerly of the Broomfield Hotel in Moorbottom, pleaded guilty to waste offences at Batley and Dewsbury Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday. Ms Kirk, who now lives on Upper Cross Street, Dewsbury, was fined £415 including costs. The offences related to uncontained trade and domestic waste and failing to put domestic dustbins out for collection at the pub between February and April this year despite being served with legal notices requiring her to do so. She also pleaded guilty to a flytipping incident on April 7 on Dewsbury Road, Cleckheaton. Officers investigating the flytipping found it contained correspondence linked to Ms Kirk and the Broomfield Hotel. When questioned, Ms Kirk could not prove how waste from the pub had been disposed, which contravenes Section 34.5 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990.
