Huge lottery funding for Dewsbury regeneration projects

REGENERATION projects in Dewsbury are to benefit from £2m of lottery funding.

The conservation area around Northgate, which includes the iconic Pioneer House, is to get £1,955,700.

A further £47,700 has been handed to the Friends of Rectory Park group in Thornhill for conservation schemes.

It comes on top of a further £50,000 of lottery cash given to Crow Nest Park.

MP Simon Reevell welcomed said: “I particularly welcome the news that the Heritage Lottery Fund has chosen to invest in the town centre.

“It contains some historic buildings and substantial investment will now allow them to reach their full potential.”
