Five arrested after race attack

FIVE male suspects have been arrested in connection with an attack on two Asian boys in Thornhill Lees. A 16yearold, two 17yearolds, an 18yearold and a 21yearold were questioned by police over the alleged assault on Lees Hall Road on November 3. The Asian boys, both 16, were attacked as they walked home from the shops. One was slashed across the face with a bladed weapon. The attack is now being treated as raciallymotivated. Both 17yearolds and the 21yearold have been charged with wounding and raciallyaggravated common assault. One of the 17yearolds and the 21yearold were in court last Saturday and were remanded to appear at Leeds Crown Court yesterday. The other suspects are still on bail.
