EIGHT people have been arrested following a disturbance in Dewsbury Moor when a number of weapons were brandished.
Police were called to reports of a large group of people gathering on Pilgrim Crescent on Sunday night at around 10pm.
Officers attended and found a group of males brandishing weapons, although they soon dispersed.
A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police confirmed eight people had been arrested aged between 20 and 36. Detective Inspector Mark Walker, of Kirklees CID, said: “Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the disorder which took place.
“We are working closely with the community and our partners and there will be increased neighbourhood policing patrols in the area to reassure local residents.
“I would like to appeal to anyone who witnessed the disorder or has any further information to come forward.”
