Drug tenant turfed out

A TENANT convicted of possession with intent to supply drugs is to be evicted from his Shaw Cross council home. Housing officials took legal action against Nathan Ineson, of Manor Gardens, when he was convicted of drugs offences in July. Ineson, known as “Pepe”, is to be evicted on January 3 after a possession order was granted at Bradford Court on last Thursday. Kirklees Neighbourhood Housing (KNH), which manages properties on behalf of Kirklees Council, pursued the case. KNH Director of Operations Paul Buckley, said: “We want the estates we manage to be places where people feel safe and proud to call home. “Using a council property for illegal purposes, which includes taking, selling, supplying or possessing drugs, is a serious breach of tenancy conditions.” Kirklees Council cabinet member for communities Coun Jean Calvert (Lab) added: “This eviction sends a strong message. “The minority of tenants who break the law need to realise that there will be consequences to their actions.”
