LOCAL activists showed solidarity with the health service when they gathered in Cleckheaton town centre last Saturday as part of a Labour campaign day.
Labour Party and GMB trade union members held a street stall, leafleted and talked to the public about what they see as a crisis in the NHS.
They also collected hundreds of signatures for a petition calling on neighbouring Calderdale Council to stop attacking the terms and conditions of foster carers, many of whom are members of the giant GMB trade union.
The petition will be presented to the council when they meet next month.
Batley & Spen MP Tracy Brabin was on hand to show her support for the NHS and to add her name to the petition, along with Emmerdale star Bhasker Patel.
