A SPECIAL rugby shirt has been created in memory of Archie Bruce. The commemorative #ACB9 half-and-half top represents Batley Bulldogs and Dewsbury Moor – the two teams he played for.
The 20-year-old’s family have approved the shirt and it went on sale yesterday (Thursday) night at Dewsbury Moor’s Yorkshire Men’s League game against Milford, where there was a minute’s applause and an area where people could pay their respects and lay flowers.
The shirts cost £25 and all proceeds will go to Archie’s benevolent fund.
Three of Archie’s former teammates at Dewsbury Moor, Tom Kaye, Cameron Adleigh and Aiden Ineson - as well as ex-Moor player Lewis Pattinson – have arranged a charity skydive in his memory on September 27.
A minute’s applause will also be held at tomorrow’s Challenge Cup final at Wembley Stadium between St Helens and Warrington Wolves to remember Archie.
