Circus skills and a whole lot more at Hollybank

Circus skills and a whole lot more at Hollybank

ARCHERY and circus skills are among the activities at a family fun day in Mirfield on Sunday.

It takes place in the grounds of the Hollybank Trust on Far Common Road from 11am to 5.30pm.

There will be stalls, funfair rides, live music and magic tricks plus refreshment marquees and a hog roast.

One highlight is likely to be the It’s A Knockout contest, where teams of 10 complete amid foam and water along crazy inflatable courses.

Last year’s winners, the YMCA rugby team, are returning to defend their crown against stiff opposition.

The West Yorkshire Police Dog Team will be there along with magician John Danbury and the Colne Valley Music School.

Refreshments include everything from ice cream to beer, pizza, burgers and afternoon tea.

Hollybank cares for people with profound disabilities and complex medical needs. Residents will be showcasing their artwork at the event.

Organiser Nancy Roberts said: “This year’s event is bigger than ever and we’re sure people will have a fun-packed family day out.

“There could also be a heatwave, which will be a wonderful contrast to last year when we had shivering contestants wrapped in blankets.”
