Care for disabled' meeting goes ahead

A meeting in Mirfield about changes to care and benefits for disabled people is still going ahead despite a council Uturn.

Mencap In Kirklees and Ambitions4Kirklees have organised the free advice session at Northorpe Hall from 7pm on July 13.

Kirklees Council has axed plans to only offer social care to those with critical needs over concerns it may breach disability discrimination laws.

Ambitions4Kirklees director Bev Simmons said a legal expert would be giving advise on what the uturn and other changes mean.
