A PASSER-BY got a shock when he found an eight-foot long boa constrictor in Batley basking in the sun.
Police were called to Nethercroft last Thursday and discovered the pet reptile had escaped from an enclosure at its owner’s home.
The animal, quickly put in a box and reunited with its owner, was settled on a wall and sunning itself.
Officers then found another snake was on the loose from the same address.
The two snakes were reunited with their owner and re-secured in their tank.
Specialist officers from the RSPCA attended and made the tank more secure to prevent it happening again, and gave the snakes a health check.
