AN INSPIRATIONAL teenager from Mirfield has taken part in a four-day yacht adventure around the Solent.
Bailey Coppack, who had a brain tumour and leukaemia, was invited on the trip by the Dame Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust.
She was aboard the yacht Scarlet Oyster and got involved in everything from helming the boat to cooking.
Thirteen-year-old Bailey was among 20 youngsters recovering from cancer who set off Isle of Wight last Monday.
There were stop-overs in Yarmouth and Newtown for a barbecue and a fun water fight before they returned to the Isle of Wight.
Further excitement was had through a thrilling speedboat ride around the iconic Isle of Wight Needles.
Bailey even got meet Dame Ellen, one of the world’s most famous yachting stars and who set up her cancer charity 10 years ago.
A thrilled Bailey said: “I’d never been on a sailboat before and it was a really exciting, a totally different experience.
“It doesn’t matter what your ability or disability is, once you decide to get on with it, it is great.”
