FRIDAY JUNE 3 EDITION: This week, five of the six councillors sent a court summons for council tax arrears have been named - and four of them are Labour members.

But the only one from our area is Batley East representative Amanda Stubley, who is understood to have paid up.

Elsewhere, a school in Gomersal rocked by child sex offences committed by its former headteacher has been told to improve.

Outrage in Mirfield over a fun day flop has been dubbed a "witch hunt" by defenders of the organiser.

But residents there and in Birstall should have happier times thanks to tea parties celebrating the Queen's 90th birthday.

And we review the prospects of town centre regeneration in Batley after more than 20,000 people turned up for last weekend's vintage day.

In sport, Dewsbury boss Glenn Morrison believes the club's focus on the ill-fated Reserves side is 'hurting' the first team's chances.

The Rams play Bradford this weekend in the Championship while rivals Batley take on Oldham brimming with confidence after their second derby win of the season at last weekend's Summer Bash.

Elsewhere Thornhill Trojans beat Myton Warriors to win the BARLA National Cup at the Big Fellas Stadium.

It was the first time the Overthorpe Park side have lifted the trophy in their history.

But other local amateur sides had less success. Both Shaw Cross Sharks and Mirfield Stags lost in the National Conference League Division One and Yorkshire Men's League Premier respectively.

And Heckmondwike boxer Cory O'Regan excelled in Scotland, while Gomersal CC continue to defy the odds in Championship B.

It's all in The Press, the only newspaper which has North Kirklees covered.
