A 'gentle' 120mile cycle planned this Sunday

Issue 475

The now Mirfieldbased Ravensthorpe Cycling Club are inviting all cyclists in the area to join them this Sunday as they mark their 120th year with a 120mile ride.
The club run will be to scale the heights of Sutton Bank, heading out through Tadcaster and Easingwold, returning back via Boroughbridge and Wetherby.
Mainly flat, the ride offers a great chance for socialising, stopping at cafes and no doubt some rivalry to see who can reach the top of the gruelling 25 per cent gradient first
If anyone would like to join the ride the club will meet an hour earlier than usual this week, at 8am on Sunday at Mirfield Library, where it is hoped club member and cycling legend Brian Robinson will wave off the riders.
Anyone interested in joining the cycling club can find it via an internet search or drop in for a coffee at Battyeford Sporting Club when the club meets on a Thursday evening.
Out for a ride ... members of the 120yearold club
