35 jobs to go in Fox's restructuring

Issue 474

Up to 35 jobs could be at risk at Fox’s Biscuits in Batley after managers announced a restructuring plan.
Most of those affected will be offered new posts while it is hoped any job losses will be down to natural wastage or voluntary redundancy. A 30day consultation is underway.
Helena England, of bakers union BFAWU, said: “Things aren’t as bad as they sound. Our priority is keeping Fox’s in Batley. This restructuring is about improving performance so we can keep Fox’s in the town.”
A spokesman for Northern Foods, Fox’s parent company, said: “We’ve announced a restructure as part of ensuring Fox’s can remain competitive. While there are a maximum of 35 roles potentially redundant, we’re pleased to say the majority will be redeployed.”
