Zoe snapped up her big chance

A PHOTOGRAPHY studio in Cleckheaton is growing thanks to the business savvy of a former school cook.
Zoe Marie Wall, 24, set up Love 2 Take Photos in Northgate nearly two years ago despite having never taken pictures or run a shop before.
The mumofone, who worked in Kirklees Council’s school kitchens, has used a natural gift for photography and Dragon’s Denlike cunning.
She picked up the camera and business basics from husband Jonathan, who runs the Photoshoot shop in Heckmondwike’s Market Place.
But Zoe came up with unique ideas that made a success of the studio despite starting out just as the recession was about to hit.
She created “Princess Parties” in which girls aged seven to 16 can have two hours of fun getting dressed up and having pictures taken.
Youngsters receive a goody bag, a 7”x5” portrait to keep and an invite to a slideshow event showing off all the photographs.
It proved so successful, particularly with girls aged around 12, that Zoe is considering launching a service for boys themed around football or pirates.
She also offers passport photos, Tshirt printing, picture framing, film processing, photo restoration and is available for events like weddings.
Zoe said: “I’d been interested in photography for years and I’m looking at going to college at night to learn even more.
“Getting premises in the right place has also helped. We’re right by the Tesco tunnel in the town centre and that brings people in.
“Word is spreading about the quality work we do. Someone came in the other day from Manchester because they’d heard about us from a relative.”
She has joined forces with husband Jonathan to run a free Bonny Baby competition throughout August to celebrate her success.
