When expert help counts

Should solicitors be classed as alternative businesses?
For most of us the 6th October 2011 was just an ordinary day (unless of course it was an important anniversary!) and not too much happened.
On the 6th October 2011 the Legal Services Act 2007 came into force which opened up the legal services market to competition. This means that other businesses such as the CoOp, Tesco, Kwik Fit, to name just a few, can offer legal services.
Allowing other businesses to provide legal services sounds like a good idea and will provide a greater choice for you but how might it work in practice? Would you really like to give instructions for a Will whilst doing your shopping?
I have already seen a job advert working for a wellknown stationery firm selling conveyancing and wills to the public. From the 6th October 2011 that well known firm can sell you a Will (or try) whilst you are buying your newspaper. Is that how legal services should be provided?
At Hellewell Pasley and Brewer, whilst we agree this provides
QUANTITY, we do not believe it will provide QUALITY.
At Hellewell Pasley and Brewer we offer Legal Services in many areas including, Wills, Probate, Conveyancing, Personal Injury, Employment and Matrimonial – private and legal aid.
We have been providing these services for over 70 years from our offices in Dewsbury and Birstall.
