Town chief Dean Hoyle signs up for top March event

MULTImillionaire Mirfieldbased entrepreneur Dean Hoyle is to join the panel at a business conference in March.
Heckmondwikeborn Mr Hoyle, founder of the Card Factory, will be on the ‘Billion Pound’ panel at the Yorkshire Mafia event in Leeds.
Huddersfield Town FC chairman Mr Hoyle, who sold Card Factory for a reported £350m in April, will be discussing his career.
Birstallbased events firm Hillrich has organised the event for March 15 at the Royal Armouries museum in Leeds. It is a free networking opportunity and more than 1,000 business leaders from around Yorkshire are due to attend.
They will be sharing tips on things like best practice and customer relations at a ‘Question Time’ style event.
Mr Hoyle said: “I’m honoured to be a part of the conference as it promises to be one of the biggest events in the business calendar.
“I hope I can help out some local entrepreneurs and business people with advice taken from my own career and experiences.”
Mr Hoyle started selling cards from the back of van in Wakefield with wife Janet in 1993.
Five years later they opened their first shop.
The pair subsequently built Card Factory into a 500store nationwide empire, which was later sold to private equity firm Charterhouse.
Hillrich managing director Danny Matharu said: “Dean’s a true entrepreneur and a perfect choice for our ‘Billion Pound’ panel.
“He’s a Yorkshireman who started his business with very little and grafted his way to achieve astonishing success.
“Dean agreeing to be involved is a real coup.
“I’m sure the conference delegates will identify with Dean and be inspired by him.”
